National champion meat cutter from Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP)--A Sioux Falls man, Jesse Selland, has won the title of 2009 National Meat Cutter of the Year.

Selland, who works at Texas Roadhouse in Sioux Falls, defeated five other national finalists in a competition held this week in San Francisco.

Each contestant received an equal amount of beef and was judged on quality, yield and speed. Selland had the most steaks with the highest quality cut in the least amount of time.

The first prize was $20,000.
