The St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 1,709 head Feb. 27, compared to 3,297 head two weeks ago and 2,230 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.
No accurate trend on feeder cattle due to difference in numbers on offer, compared to last sale reported. However, a weaker undertone was noted. Buyer attendance good with moderate demand. The supply consisted of approximately 20% slaughter cows and bulls, 2% breeding bulls, and 78% feeders. Of the feeder supply 71% steers, 29% heifers, and 40% weighing over 600 pounds.
