Kansas Sport Hunting Association sponsors fund raising hunt

Kansas

Sportsmen and women wanting to get in some late-season hunting will have their chance at Ravenwood Lodge, Topeka, on March 14. The lodge will be the host site for the annual Kansas Sport Hunting Association Fun Hunt fundraiser, which is open to any hunter interested in testing his or her shooting skills on a European driven pheasant hunt. There will be 10 pheasants driven over the blinds for every hunter.

Ravenwood Lodge, located at 10147 S. W. 61st, Topeka, is a premier destination hunting lodge. Featured on Curt Gowdy's Outdoor World, OLN "Pull," America's Top Gun Clubs and Field and Stream's Cast and Blast, this is a great opportunity to experience a European-style pheasant hunt. Proceeds from the fundraiser hunt go to support the work of the Kansas Sport Hunting Association, which includes promotion of hunting in Kansas and support of the Pass It On Outdoor Mentor program and the new K-State Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprises Manager major.

"We are looking forward to a good day of hunting. If you haven't experienced a European-style pheasant hunt, this is your chance to do so at a reasonable price while supporting hunting in Kansas," Ravenwood Lodge owner Ken Corbet said.

Three rounds are scheduled for the European shoot at 8:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Registration fees are $150 for KSHA members and $175 for non-members. Bird cleaning is included. Registration fee is stated per round and hunters may shoot more than one round if space is available. Noon lunch will be available at the lodge for an additional fee. Also available during the day for an additional fee is Ravenwood's competition clay's course. All hunters must have a current Kansas hunting license.

Registration forms are available on the Kansas Sport Hunting Association's website at www.huntkansas.org or from the association office. Call toll free at 1-866-672-4868 for more information or to request a registration form. Registration is limited, so those interested are encouraged to register soon.

The Kansas Sport Hunting Association is a not-for-profit association of hunting service providers, big game outfitters and game bird producers in the state of Kansas. Its members provide quality hunting experiences throughout the state.
