SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP)--A meat cutter from a Sioux Falls restaurant is one of six finalists in a nationwide competition to demonstrate the skills and speed of the profession throughout the franchise.
Jesse Selland works at Texas Roadhouse and will take part in the final round next month in San Francisco during a timed "cut off."
Each person will receive an equal amount of beef and be judged on quality, yield and speed. The winner will be the meat cutter who yields the most steaks with the highest quality cut in the least amount of time.
That person will earn the title of 2009 Meat Cutter of the Year and a prize of $20,000.
