WICHITA, Kan. (AP)--The Sedgwick County sheriff's office is starting an e-mail distribution list to spread to the word about thefts of equipment, cattle and other items from farms and businesses.
The program is called the Agriculture Livestock Information Network. Deputy Travis Clinesmith says the program now has about 250 people signed up in Sedgwick County and surrounding counties, but can add others in the state who are interested.
The network allows farm cooperatives, farmers, implement dealers, construction companies and others to share information about stolen items and suspicious activity.
People interested in registering for the program can contact the Sedgwick County sheriff's office at 316-522-2610 or send an e-mail to alin@sedgwick.gov.
