KCA meetings open to the public


Kansas Cattlemen's Association is hosting a number of meetings regarding the livestock industry. This series of meetings are open to the public. The meetings will cover the newly implemented country-of-origin labeling, profitability and challenges in the cattle feeding sector of the industry, current trade policies, and the ever changing markets. Kansas Cattlemen share many concerns regarding the possibility of mandatory I.D. And, this will be addressed as well. The meetings will take place in the following towns:

There were meetings held in Lacrosse, March 16; Colby, March 17; Atwood, March 18; Hutchinson, March 18; Carbondale, March 19; and Saint Francis, March 19.

--Madison, March 23, 7 p.m., Community Building;

--Great Bend, March 24, 7 p.m., K-State Extension Office 1800 12th Street;

--Kinsley, March 24, 7 p.m. Allison Memorial Community and Youth Center, 115 E 6th Downtown Kinsley;

--El Dorado, March 25, 7, Butler Comm. College Purple Room in Student Union Bldg.;

--Coffeyville, March 26, 7 p.m., Coffeyville Library 311 W 10th Street;

--McPherson, March 26, 7 p.m., City Library 214 W. Marlin;

--Minneapolis, March 26, 7 p.m., Basement room in the Courthouse building Concord and 3rd street (enter in the corner South door);

--Leoti, March 30 7:30 p.m., Wichita Co. Business Care Center 102 W Broadway (corner of Hwy 96 & Hwy 25);

--Erie, March 30, 7 p.m., Courthouse Meeting Room in the basement 100 S Main;

--Philipsburg, March 31, 7:30, KSU extension office 784 6th St. (behind the Chubby Pickle);

--Jetmore, March 31, 7 p.m., 4-H Center (in the Courthouse Lounge- 1st floor, South Entrance);

--Russell, April, 6, 7:30 p.m., 4-H Building (North Room);

--Plainville, April 7, 7 p.m., Plainville Sale Barn;

--Oberlin, April 8, 7 p.m., The Gateway Room 3.
