Delisa named senior director of development for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

The Texas A&M Foundation has named Monica L. Delisa senior director of development for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, said Dr. Mark Hussey, vice chancellor and dean of the college.

In her new role, Delisa will work closely with former students, corporations and other Texas A&M donors to match their charitable interests with priorities in the agriculture and life sciences college.

For the past two years, Delisa has been the director of major gifts at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson.

"We are very pleased to have someone of Monica Delisa's skill and experience join us. She understands and appreciates the role of agriculture and the life sciences. We know our former students and other donors will enjoy getting to know her," Hussey said.

"I am thrilled to be part of the Texas A&M family, and I look forward to meeting the many friends, former students and supporters of the college," Delisa said.

Delisa earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural communications and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Arizona.

In addition to her most recent position at the University of Arizona, she worked for the university's College of Agriculture, 4-H Youth development, the College of Nursing, and the Steele Children's Research Center.

Delisa was a founding member of the national Nursing Development Group; adviser for the Institute for Better Education; member of the board of directors for the Boyce Thompson Southwestern Arboretum; member of the board of directors for the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association; volunteer adviser for the 4-H State Ambassadors; and president of the board of directors for the Miss Tucson Pageant Association.
