Texas AgriLife Extension Service sets Hockley County training

Texas

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service office in Hockley County will conduct a Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit training from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 21.

The site will be at the Hockley County Fairground's Women's Building located at 1921 Blackgold Road in Levelland.

A total of five continuing education units will be available: two laws and regulations, two integrated pest management and one general.

Kerry Siders, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management agent at Levelland, said people with private, commercial or non-commercial pesticide applicator licenses can still apply the continuing education units from the training to their license or certificate for 2008.

"Many license holders whose license has expired have until Feb. 28 to obtain all their units," Siders said. "Right now would be a good time to check your license or certificate to see if it is still valid and that you have earned the required continuing education units necessary to keep it valid. If you need more units, then please make plans to attend this last chance training."

Individual registration is $25 at the door and includes lunch.

For more information, contact the AgriLife Extension office in Hockley County at 806-894-2406, http://hockley-co.tamu.edu.
