WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP)--Codington County Sheriff Toby Wishard and Watertown police are investigating the theft of cattle from the Watertown Livestock sales barn.
Wishard would not give an exact count but says fewer than 200 cattle are missing. He says they were taken off the lot at the south sale barn and that it was obvious they were hauled away in trucks.
Wishard says his office got a call early March 3 indicating the cattle must have been taken between the hours of 10 p.m., March 2 and 6 a.m., March 3.
