LIGHT TILLAGE--Hood & Company, Springfield, Mo., and Kern Sales and Marketing, Wamego, Kan., introduce the Kelly Diamond Disc Chain Harrow, from Kelly Engineering of Booleroo Centre, South Australia. The Kelly Harrow uses flexible gangs of small discs, formed into a chain and supported by a special framework. The disc chains cut weeds and break down stubble residue without burying it. They will work the top inch or two of soil and level the field at the same time. The weight of the machine is spread over a large area, which means better flotation. Farmers can access fields 10 to 14 days earlier than with conventional equipment. The framework has been tested in Australia under a large number of conditions. For more information, call Hood & Company at 417-865-2100, or visit www.kellyengineering.com.au.
