South Central direct sheep report

The South Central Direct Sheep Report for the week ending May 2, showed receipts of 3,500 head of feeder lambs, and 100 head of slaughter ewes, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were weak to $5 lower. Slaughter ewes had no comparison. There were no slaughter lambs, replacement ewes or slaughter meat goats. Trading and demand were moderate.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 3500 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 80 lbs., 115.00 to 120.00.

Slaughter ewes: Texas, 100 head, Utility and Good 1 to 3, 135 lbs., 35.00.
