Goldthwaite sheep sales reportThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, May 29, reported receipts of 2,008 head, compared to 2,279 head last week and 2,472 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light slaughter lambs were $10 to $15 higher, heavy weights were steady. Stocker and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 higher. Demand was very good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 250 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs., 45.00 to 65.00. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 60 to 80 lbs., 49.00 to 64.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Prime, few 95 lbs., 106.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 105.00 to 120.00, few 125.00 to 128.00. Good, 40 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00. Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 40.00. Slaughter bucks, 125 to 200 lbs., 35.00 to 56.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 45 to 60 lbs., 130.00 to 142.00, 60 to 80 lbs., 130.00 to 144.00. Selection 2, 45 to 60 lbs., 115.00 to 130.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 40.00 to 59.00, few light weights 60.00 to 62.00. Angoras, 60 to 90 lbs., 39.00 to 45.00. Billies, Selection 1, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 80.00.
