Precision Planting announces details of the 2009 Summer Corn Conference July 28 to 31

Precision Planting announced recently the details of the 2009 Summer Corn Conference. This biennial event is the premier gathering of high yield corn producers in the country. Growers and agronomists nationwide will be in attendance for hands on demonstrations and analysis of the latest technology and resources for corn production. Attendees pick from one of the four available days to attend: July 28, 29, 30, and 31. In addition to one general session with the 400 daily participants, attendees participate in small group breakout sessions.

The Precision Planting Conferences have become known for their unique formats and informative sessions. Content is developed around current agronomic issues affecting high yield corn production. "I have been to three Precision Planting conferences and really enjoy them. I personally like picking up new ideas; especially the agronomy tips and information on new products," says Chris Bodenhausen, farmer, Muscotah, Kan.

The Summer Corn Conference breakout sessions will include scouting field plot trials, live planting demonstrations, and an 8-feet deep by 40-foot wide "root pit." Session leaders will facilitate discussions on corn plant health and performance across different tillage practices, field conditions, and planting situations. Another session will include a planter ride-along to evaluate and troubleshoot planting performance. The "root pit" is a staple of the conference and shows actual root development of corn plants growing in field conditions. The sessions are developed with the goal to give each grower profit boosting ideas they can take back to their own operation.

Precision Planting will also be unveiling new product innovations and the details of the addition of prescription control capabilities for swath control systems and variable rate drives with the 20/20 SeedSense system.

The Precision Planting Summer Corn Conference is free to growers; however, reservations are required. You can make reservations by contacting a local Precision Planting Representative, or you can make direct inquiries to Precision Planting online at www.precisionplanting.com or by phoning 309-925-5050.
