Texas juniors parade champions at State ShowTexas Angus youth led 132 entries at the 2009 Texas Junior Angus Association State Show, June 8 in Brenham, Texas. Steve Patton, Frankfort, Ind., evaluated the 89 owned females, 22 bred-and-owned females, two bred-and-owned bulls, 11 cow-calf pairs, and eight steers before selecting champions. SKCC Hondo 814 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Kari Kuykendall, Midlothian, Texas, owns the December 2008 bull sired by Cowboy Troy. Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors went to C S Drover Structure 4911. Carrie Shirley, Yantis, Texas, owns the February 2008 son of Dajs Drover 411. Plainview Pride J34 was named grand champion owned female after capturing the junior champion title. Stephanie Lastovica, Salado, Texas, owns the February 2008 daughter of Plainview Sun Dance G39. GEYE Princess G820 claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. The October 2008 daughter of S A V Net Worth 4200 is owned by Emory Geye, Rising Star, Texas. She first won calf champion. Emory Geye also led GEYE EQ's Delia G805 to the grand champion bred-and-owned female title. The March 2008 daughter of H S A F Bando 1961 first won junior champion. L A F Miss Ruby 394 was selected reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning calf champion. Stephanie Lastovica, owns the October 2008 daughter of B C Lookout 7024. Stepanie Lastovica, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. Sedgwicks Ruby S325 is an October 2006 daughter of Lemmon Newsline C804. An October 2008 heifer calf sired by B C Lookout 7024 completes the winning pair. LAF Jodie 706 claimed reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Mollie Lastovica, Fredericksburg, Texas, owns the January 2007 daughter of QLC LaGrand Forum. Her calf is a March 2009 son of BT Crossover 758N. Garrens Traveler 813 was named grand champion steer. Wade Wells, Hamilton, Texas, owns the May 2008 son of Garrens Traveler 234 D 420. Brazos Williams, Memphis, Texas, claimed reserve grand champion steer honors with SC Crossover 887. He is an August 2008 son of BT Crossover 758N.
