Texas Association of Agricultural Consultants endows scholarship

Texas

The Texas Association of Agricultural Consultants recently donated $20,000 to establish an endowed scholarship fund at Tarleton State University to benefit students majoring in crop science, entomology or integrated pest management.

The recipient of the scholarship must be a junior or senior, Texas resident, with at least a 2.75 overall grade-point average and a demonstrated need for financial assistance. The student also must have a demonstrated interest in production agriculture.

A Ceremonial Gift Agreement Signing was held on May 4. In attendance for the signing were TAAC Scholarship Chair John Ed Brothers, TAAC President Mark Nemec, Tarleton President F. Dominic Dottavio, former Congressman Charles Walter "Charlie" Stenholm, College of Agriculture and Human Sciences Dean Dr. Don Cawthon and interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Chilton.

Founded in 1974, the Texas Association of Agricultural Consultants is an organization comprised of professional agricultural consultants from across the state. Their goal is to work together in a cooperative effort to help farm growers address crop concerns in an environmentally responsible and profitable manner.
