Sheep field day set for July 13

Oklahoma

Northern Oklahoma College is sponsoring a Sheep Field Day on July 13, which is the day before the Big 3 Field Days at Oklahoma State University.

A sheep judging contest will include eight classes of Suffolk, Dorset or Hampshire, breeding rams, breeding ewes or market lambs.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by Round 1 of the judging contest at 9:45 a.m. Round 1 will consists of four classes. At 10:45 a.m., Round 2 will begin, and awards will be presented at noon.

The age divisions are:

--Junior, ages 12 and under;

--Intermediate, ages 13 to 15;

--Senior, 16 and up to 2009 graduated seniors.

The top five individuals will receive awards and top three teams will receive awards. The top senior division winner will receive an NOC Judging Scholarship.

Registration for the contest is$10 per team or $3 per individuals.
