The American Shorthorn Association is pleased to announce that Shorthorn University 2009 will take place in the state of Texas over the weekend of July 31 to Aug. 2. Shorthorn University aims to broaden breeder's awareness of the entire beef industry in an effort to give attendees contact with influential leaders as well as opportunities to build relationships with fellow cattlemen. This tour has gained great interest over the past couple years among Shorthorn breeders and commercial breeders alike, and once again the ASA has collaborated with breeders from Texas, as well as others to make sure this event gives adults a chance to learn industry techniques, gain resources, and help broaden their knowledge base of the industry.
"Shorthorn 'U' gives breeders of all ages a chance to view and learn from a variety of operations atypical of what they can see in their local community or even home state," says Patrick Wall, Eastern Regional Director/Genetic Improvement for the ASA.
