Sterling County Weed and Brush field day, June 23

Texas AgriLife Extension Service's Sterling County Range and Livestock Committee will host the Sterling County Weed and Brush Control Field Day on June 23.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Sterling County Community Center located on Main Street, one block east of the Sterling County Courthouse.

Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available for those with a private pesticide applicator license.

Dr. Allan McGinty, AgriLife Extension range specialist at San Angelo, is scheduled to present updates on the Brush Busters program and on new brush-control herbicides now available to producers.

The program will conclude by noon with a tour of lotebush-control demonstration plots on the U Ranch northwest of Sterling City.

Individual registration is $10 at the door.
