CSU Extension Beef Feedlot Field Day June 19

Colorado

The Colorado State University Extension Beef Team is pleased to announce the 2009 beef producer field day taking place June 19. This year's program will be held at the feedlot of Teague Diversified in Fort Morgan, Colo., and will showcase a variety of topics pertinent to today's beef industry. Teague Diversified is recognized as a front runner in the beef industry in that they have a variety of unique practices they are implementing, trying, or found do not work in their operation. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a full day of presentations running from 9 a.m., and ending at approximately 3 p.m.

The day is divided into a cluster of five primary topics: 1) air quality, 2) composting manure and mortalities, 3) beta-agonists/by-product feeds, 4) animal handling, and 5) carcass quality. For each of the topics, you will rotate around the feedlot to stop at various places to not only hear from experts on the topic, but get a chance to see and touch what is really going on.

Anyone interested in beef production is invited to attend, with the presentations geared toward feedlot owners, managers, and employees who are making decisions at their feedlot and/or implementing various practices day in and day out. A lunch will be served at noon. There is a $10 per person registration with $5 for each additional member of the same business. Early registration is due by June 16, add an additional $5 late fee for registrations after June 16. To register and for further information please contact: Marlin Eisenach at 970-542-3543 or go to www.csubeef.com.
