Tulsa cattle sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,206 head June 29, compared to 2,134 head last week and 2,254 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, stocker steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 lower. Demand was moderate on lighter weights and good for feeders. Hot and dry weather conditions continue across much of the state. Receipts included 17% over 600 lbs and 44% heifers. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher, bulls were $3 to $4 higher. A total of 442 cows and bulls sold with 54% going to packers. Demand was very good for packer cows with active trade.

Lean, 92 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1350 lbs., 48.00 to 51.50; high dressing, 52.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.00. Light, 62 head, 85 to 90% lean, 700 to 1000 lbs., 46.00 to 49.50; high dressing, 50.00 to 52.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 45.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 18 head, 1450 to 2000 lbs., 63.00 to 66.50; high dressing, 67.00 to 73.00; low dressing, 58.50 to 62.00.

Replacement cows: Pairs, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 4 years old, 850 to 1000 lbs., with 80- to 150-lb. calves, low quality blacks, 650.00 to 790.00.
