Goldthwaite sheep sales report

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, June 26, reported receipts of 3,270 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,272 head last week and 2,249 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stocker and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including near 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 90 to 130 lbs., 50.00 to 80.00, ewe lambs 50 to 70 lbs., 104.00 to 122.00. Dorper bucks, 135.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados ewes, few 70 to 90 lbs., 30.00 to 40.00.

Slaughter lambs: Prime, few 92.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 84.00 to 94.00. Good, 40 to 85 lbs., 80.00 to 85.00. Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 40.00. Cull, thin/very thin, 20.00 to 30.00. Slaughter bucks, 100 to 225 lbs., 20.00 to 40.00. Barbados, lambs, 45 to 70 lbs., 75.00 to 89.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 45 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 114.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 104.00 to 113.00. Selection 2, 45 to 60 lbs., 88.00 to 100.00. Nannies, 80 to 130 lbs., 40.00 to 60.00, thin 30.00 to 40.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 85.00, few light weights 85.00 to 90.00. Muttons, Selection 1, few 100 lbs., 86.00.

Replacement goats: Kids, Selection 1, 45 to 70 lbs., nannies 105.00 to 120.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 50.00 to 70.00. Billies, 175 to 205 lbs., 78.00 to 90.00.

Stock and feeder goats: 30 to 45 lbs., 80.00 to 100.00.
