AdvertisementWyobraska cattle sales reportThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska, western North and South Dakota feedlots for the week ending June 27, totaled 450 head, compared to 100 head last week and 1,575 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Feeder steers and heifers were not well tested at Wyoming auctions this week. Direct trading was very slow this week. Demand was light to moderate. No recent price comparison was available. Buyer inquiry was light to moderate for light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent, and with a 5 to 10 cent slide on calves and 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings from base weight. Steers made up approximately 100% of the total receipts, heifers 0%, with 100% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 240 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium to large frame 1, 510 lbs., 125.00; 725 lbs., 107.50; 870 lbs., 89.00. Direct, Medium to large frame 1, FOB price, 940 lbs., 94.50.
