Dalhart livestock sales report

The Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 838 head June 25, compared to 844 head last week and 2,051 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter cows were $3 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 450- to 750-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 47% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 1%, and feeders 51%. The feeder supply included 34% steers and 66% heifers, with nearly 58% of the run over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, two packages 300 to 335 lbs., 120.00 to 127.00; few 400 to 500 lbs., 110.00 to 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 105.50 to 112.00; few 600 to 700 lbs., 97.75 to 101.25; lot 745 lbs., 96.50; package 810 lbs., 93.75; package 900 lbs., 90.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 112.00 to 115.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 103.50 to 105.50; package 587 lbs., 101.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, few 300 to 400 lbs., 102.00 to 105.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 97.00 to 100.25; 500 to 600 lbs., 93.75 to 97.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 93.10 to 96.25; 700 to 800 lbs., 87.50 to 91.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 200 to 300 lbs., 101.00 to 108.00; package 371 lbs., 100.00; package 480 lbs., 103.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 88.50 to 90.50, package 535 lbs., 95.00; two packages 601 to 681 lbs., 90.00; package 791 lbs., 82.50. Medium and large frame 2, package 503 lbs., 89.50.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 51.00 to 54.50; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.75. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 48.00 to 53.25. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 50.25 to 51.00.
