Champions selected at Missouri Angus Preview Show


Angus enthusiasts exhibited 103 entries at the 2009 Missouri Angus Association Preview Show, June 14 in Sedalia, Mo. Bruce Keisewetter, Columbus Junction, Iowa, evaluated 85 females, 14 bulls, and four cow-calf pairs before naming the winners.

Werner Lady 3107 won the honors of grand champion female after being named senior champion. Kimberlee Gieseker, Martinsburg, Mo., owns the September 2007 daughter of S A V 8180 Traveler 004.

WCC Frontier Gal 893 claimed reserve grand champion female honors for Paige Wallace, Stotts City, Mo. The September 2008 daughter of Exar Lutton 1831 previously won senior calf champion.

Clearwater Power One 1707 won the title of grand champion bull. Justin Mauss, Bois D Arc, Mo., owns the September 2007 son of Connealy Power One. He previously won senior champion.

TBA Next Day was awarded reserve grand champion bull after claiming junior calf champion. Jason Thompson, Mount Vernon, Mo., owned the January 2009 son of Boyd Next Day 60101.

Thompson also showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Jillco's Rita 5H11 7011 is a December 2007 daughter of Jillco's Dateline 7078-4020. A January 2009 son of Boyd Next Day 6010 completes the winning pair.

Creason Cattle Company, Polo, Mo., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Creason Lady Karama 703 is a January 2007 daughter of B/R New Frontier 095. Her calf is a March 2009 heifer sired by B/R Ambush.
