LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP)--Three longtime New Mexicans have been appointed to the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau.

They are Pat Woods of Curry County, John York of Grant County and Ric Choate of Sierra County.

Woods is past president of the Curry County Farm Bureau and an officer of the state bureau. The Woods family farm has been operating for 100 years since it was homesteaded in 1908.

York is president of the Grant County Farm and Livestock Bureau. He and his wife operate an apple, vegetable and fruit farm in the Mimbres Valley.

York is retired from the U.S. Agriculture Department's Soil Conservation Service and was the organization's state biologist for Arizona.

Choate is president of the Sierra County Farm and Livestock Bureau and owner of Sierra Feeds, an agribusiness operating for 40 years.
