First KAA Livestock Bid Call Contest Jan. 22

Kansas

Everyone enjoys the chant of an auctioneer. Visitors can listen to several different style of chanting, from as many as fifteen auctioneers, as they vie for the championship in the First KAA Livestock Bid Call Contest.

The Kansas Auctioneers Association, Inc., will be conducting the contest to kick off the 2009 KAA Educational Convention. The Eldorado Kansas Livestock Market will host the KAA Contest on Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. Contestants will be selling at the regular cattle auction held at Eldorado Livestock. The contest is open to a KAA member in good standing, employed as an auctioneer at a livestock auction market located in Kansas, endorsed by the facility owner or operating manager and does not need to be a resident of Kansas.

If you are a livestock auctioneer and would like to learn more about the contest, you can check www.kansasauctioneers.com. If you are an auctioneer and would like to join the association or want to check out the upcoming educational convention to be held at the Broadview in Wichita, the information is on the website.

The Kansas Auctioneers Association provides real estate continuing education courses, law update seminars and auction business related seminars to educate the auctioneer. During the convention Jan. 23 and 24 auctions are conducted. A rookie contest with the proceeds going to St. Jude's is held on Jan. 23 in the evening. In the evening Jan. 24 all auctioneers attending are invited to auction an item to benefit the association and the scholarship fund. Both auctions are open to the public. What a great way to meet an auctioneer and participate in the fun of an auction for a good cause.
