CorrectionIn the Dec. 15 issue of High Plains Journal, the story "Young pecan farmer finds strength in his roots," had an error. In the story, Chad Selman, the young pecan grower, was incorrectly identified as winning the Oklahoma Farm Bureau's Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award. Selman was a finalist for the award. The winners of the OFB YF&R Achievement Award were Jack and Jodi Simmons, of Adair County. The Simmons family farms and ranches on 1,300 acres near Stilwell, Okla., raising hay and cattle and operating a liquid feed business. Both serve on their county's YF&R Committee. Jack also serves as the Adair County Farm Bureau vice president and Jodi serves as secretary of the county Women's Committee. The Journal regrets any confusion caused by this error and congratulates both the Simmonses and Selman for their achievements. 12/29/08 Date: 12/31/08 Advertisement
