Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,175 head Jan. 21, compared to 1,378 head last week and 575 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $2 to $3 lower. Feeder heifers were $3 to $4 lower. Steer and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Fill was full to average. The supply included 49% steers, 46% heifers with 73% over 600 pounds. Limited test on slaughter cows. No test on bulls A total of 18 cows sold.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 474 lbs., 112.00; 8 head, 535 lbs., 109.25; 551 to 565 lbs., 106.75 to 109.00 (108.41); 3 head, 582 lbs., 95.00 fleshy; 2 head, 605 lbs., 94.50 calves; 656 to 677 lbs., 96.00 to 97.85 (97.20); 9 head, 724 lbs., 93.00; 765 to 786 lbs., 91.50 to 95.25 (93.78); 126 head, 864 lbs., 89.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 455 lbs., 108.50; 7 head, 645 lbs., 94.25; 5 head, 683 lbs., 90.00. Medium and large frame 3, 8 head, 425 lbs., 70.00; 5 head, 506 lbs., 67.00. Small and medium frame 1, 9 head, 391 lbs., 110.00; 8 head, 527 lbs., 104.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 462 lbs., 97.50; 17 head, 565 to 568 lbs., 88.50 to 92.25 (91.14); 9 head, 612 lbs., 86.75; 5 head, 659 lbs., 82.50; 5 head, 761 lbs., 80.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 437 to 444 lbs., 93.50 to 94.50 (94.12); 12 head, 497 lbs., 92.00; 503 to 535 lbs., 92.00 to 96.50 (93.16); 593 to 597 lbs., 84.50 to 87.25 (85.84); 622 to 623 lbs., 87.00; 659 to 666 lbs., 84.50 to 87.00 (86.43); 709 to 748 lbs., 82.50 to 84.50 (84.35); 753 to 794 lbs., 81.25 to 84.00 (82.44); 145 head, 800 lbs., 81.50 fleshy. Medium and large frame 2, 2 head, 408 lbs., 91.00; 12 head, 514 to 540 lbs., 85.00 to 90.50 (88.14); 11 head, 581 to 590 lbs., 84.50 to 85.00 (84.73); 5 head, 660 lbs., 82.50; 10 head, 849 lbs., 77.75. Slaughter cows: Boners, 2 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1550 lbs., 46.25 to 46.50. Lean, 5 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1350 lbs., 44.50 to 45.00. Lights, 2 head, 80 to 90% lean, 775 to 1000 lbs., 32.50 to 36.00
