Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., Jan. 20, reported receipts of 665 head of sheep and goats, compared to 224 head last week and 433 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, receipts were too few for an accurate comparison, however, a lower undertone was noted on slaughter lambs. Slaughter ewes and feeder lambs sold with a steady undertone noted. Receipts included about 33% slaughter lambs, 25% slaughter ewes, 37% feeder lambs and the balance was bucks, bred ewes and miscellaneous sheep. Buyer attendance was good with moderate to good demand.
