Denison feeder cattle auction

The Denison Feeder Cattle Auction, Denison, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,366 head Jan. 15, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

There was no trend as the last sale consisted of only preconditioned cattle. Moderate offerings of feeders with moderate to good demand. The receipts include 56% steers and 44% heifers, with 59% weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 410 to 447 lbs., 118.00 to 122.75 (120.97); 459 to 493 lbs., 119.00 to 121.00 (119.88); 503 to 547 lbs., 111.50 to 118.00 (113.75); 555 to 592 lbs., 109.00 to 115.50 (112.26); 611 to 647 lbs., 102.75 to 106.25 (105.26); 653 to 695 lbs., 99.50 to 106.00 (101.93); 702 to 735 lbs., 94.50 to 101.00 (96.49); 763 to 784 lbs., 93.00 to 95.10 (95.01); 48 head, 803 lbs., 94.25; 16 head, 865 lbs., 90.85; 53 head, 927 lbs., 95.75. Medium frame 1, 36 head, 497 lbs., 116.00 to 117.00 (116.58); 513 to 540 lbs., 106.50 to 113.00 (108.21).
