Dates and locations set for pesticide applicator testing
The Colorado Department of Agriculture is offering 16 locations in Colorado for those interested in testing toward their license as a commercial pesticide applicator. The testing is one step in becoming a qualified supervisor or certified operator in areas such as agriculture, turf and ornamental, and structural pesticide application.
The cities, locations and dates follow:
--Cheyenne Wells, Cheyenne Wells City Building, 151 S. 1st West, Feb. 4.
--Colorado Springs, CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 305 S. Union, Feb. 23.
--Cortez, Cortez Courthouse, 109 W. Main St. (Downstairs), Feb. 3 and March 3.
--Eads, Kiowa County Courthouse, 1305 Goff St., Feb. 25.
--Fort Collins, Larimer County CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 1525 Blue Spruce Dr., Feb. 10 and April 10.
--Fort Morgan, Morgan County CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 914 E Railroad Ave., March 11.
--Lamar, Southeast Area CSU Cooperative Extension Office, Prowers County Annex - Mezzanine, 1001 South Main Street, Jan. 21.
--Montrose, Montrose-Ouray County CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 1001 North 2nd (North of McDonalds on Main Street), Jan. 21, Feb. 24.
--Palisade Insectary, 750 37.8 Rd. (Take Main St North of tracks), Jan. 7, Feb. 10, and March 26.
--Pueblo, Pueblo County CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 212 12th Street 2nd Floor Suite 220 (Social Services Building), Feb. 19.
--San Luis Valley, location and date to be announced.
--Sterling, Logan County CSU Cooperative Extension Office, 508 S. 10th Ave., Suite #1, Jan. 21.
--Yuma, Irrigation Research Farm, 40169 Hwy 59, Feb. 25.
The testing fee is $100, and each site is limited to 10 applicants. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments must be made with the Department of Agriculture at least one week prior to the test date. Dates will be cancelled if there are less than four registrants seven days prior to the testing day. All tests are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Test administrators will wait for registrants and walk-ins at the site until 10 a.m. Each exam may be taken twice; however, there is no grading available at the testing facilities. Tests will be graded in Lakewood, Colorado.
