Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,768 head Jan. 15, compared to 1,857 head last week and 1,290 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were firm to $2 higher, over 600 pounds were $3 to $4 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm to $1 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400- to 750-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 14% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, and feeders 85%. The feeder supply included 50% steers and 50% heifers, with nearly 68% of the run over 600 pounds.
