SouthWestern Association difference helps dealers succeedSouthWestern Association is undertaking a new initiative to focus their efforts on three critical areas that help their farm, construction, industrial and outdoor power equipment members strengthen their businesses. The new focus is to be the only equipment association that: 1) Invests in an employee-advantage program that enables dealers to consistently recruit and retain the best employees. SWA partners with AgCareers.com, Agriculture Future of America and a variety of sources to identify and recruit the highest-quality employees. In addition, SWA offers internship support, technician training, seminars/education programs, and a new SWA On-Line Campus, featuring a tailored roadmap for training employees. 2) Effectively supports dealers' day-to-day operations. SWA provides its members with access to accounting, legal and regulatory experts, and other business solutions, via a hotline at 800-762-5616. 3) Represents dealers' needs. SWA represents dealers to manufacturers on key policy and program issues. In addition, SWA lobbies regulatory agencies and legislators in every state SWA covers, on behalf of independent dealers. "We want to be the dealers' partner and advocate, helping them solve problems and become more profitable," says Jeff Flora, CEO of SWA. "We decided to refocus on a few key strategies to help improve our members' businesses and be great at them, rather than be simply good at many things." About the SouthWestern Association: Founded in 1889, the SouthWestern Association represents nearly 1,800 farm, construction, industrial and outdoor power equipment dealers, as well as 2,400 hardware retailers. Led by CEO Jeffrey H. Flora, CAE, the association spans eight states -Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The largest regional trade association of its kind in North America, the SouthWestern Association offers members a comprehensive array of dealer-oriented legislative, educational and communications services, ranging from lobbying to legal, accounting and marketing support.
