Colorado

The third annual Landscape Seminar 2009 will be Jan. 22, at Yuma Community Center, Yuma, Colo., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Do you know the difference between an invasive ornamental and an invasive weed? Are you interested in creating a pond garden? Want to know about some of the more common insect and disease problems for our area? Need to redesign or renovate a perennial flower bed?

Bring your questions and join us. Get to meet and ask area professionals about these topics. Fred Raish, Supervisor of Yuma County Pest Control District will be speaking on Invasive Ornamentals and Invasive Weeds. Derek Kailey, Owner of Pine Ridge Gardens will be speaking on Aesthetics of Ponds. Learn how to keep your pond looking good and solve your pond problems. Rachel Allison, District Forester, Nebraska Forest Service will be speaking on Tree Health: An Understanding of Insect and Disease Problems. Joanne Jones, Morgan County, Horticulture Agent will be speaking about how to design or renovate a perennial flower bed.

Pre-registration is appreciated as lunch will be catered and included in the fee. The registration deadline is Jan. 15. Call Linda Langelo in Phillips County Extension Office at 970-854-3616 and we will be happy to answer any questions regarding the seminar.
