Petition circulated against Evansville wind farm

CASPER, Wyo. (AP)--More than 100 residents of the Evansville area have signed a petition against a planned wind farm with 11 turbines.

The Natrona County Commission is scheduled to vote on the Chevron Global Power Co. wind farm Feb. 3.

Local resident Stan Mundy has submitted a petition with 114 names. Mundy says the wind farm shouldn't be built so close to homes for health and safety reasons.

Mundy also says he likes the area's peace and quiet--but says his own home would be only 800 feet from one of the wind turbines.

With approval, Chevron Global Power plans to begin construction in April. The wind turbines would begin producing electricity by December.
