Junior Gelbvieh and Balancers champions crowned in DenverThe Junior Gelbvieh & Balancer Shows at the 2009 National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo., featured more than 50 head. Doug Hixon of Laramie, Wyo., evaluated the entries in both shows. Tahanee Embry of Priddy, Texas, took top honors in the Junior Gelbvieh Show with JDPD Rumor Had It 407U. This February 2008 female, sired by RTRM Headline 101P, saw the winner's circle many times in 2008. Chandler Ladner of Argonia, Kan., walked away with Reserve Champion Gelbvieh Female honors. His entry, EBY Miss Western 7319T, is an October 2007 daughter of JRI Great Western 254N68 ET. The same two exhibitors also claimed the top spots in the first-ever Junior Balancer Heifer Show at National Western. Tahanee Embry earned Champion Balancer Female honors with EBY Great Western 7114T, a March 2007daughter of JRI Great Western 254N68 ET. Chandler Ladner of Kansas earned Reserve Champion Balancer Female honors with EBY Miss Western 7297T, a September 2007 daughter of JRI Great Western 254N68 ET.
