>Arkansas Soybean Association announces seminarArkansas The Arkansas Soybean Association has set Jan. 20 as the date of their 45th Annual Business Session and Seminar. The informative seminar and business session will be held at the Convention Center (1501 Weatherby Drive) in Brinkley, Ark., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m., program at 9 a.m., and will conclude following lunch. The program will include an update on soybean breeding, a look at the commodity markets, and an update from the American Soybean Association. Speakers scheduled at this time are Dr. Grover Shannon, Soybean Breeder, Portageville, Mo.; Brad Anderson, Senior Vice President, Informa Economics, Memphis, Tenn.; and John Hoffman, Chairman, American Soybean Association, Waterloo, Iowa. The Soybean Association will hold its 45th Annual Business Session of membership. During this meeting the winners of the 2008 Yield Challenge will be announced and the 2009 DuPont Young Leaders will be recognized. The 2008 CES Education Awards will also be awarded. Ag business reps will be present to answer your questions. We will also be holding a live auction during lunch to raise additional funds for lobbying and special projects. Auction items, provided by members of the soybean industry, include soybean seed, crop protection chemicals, custom application, and many other similar items. Arkansas President John Freeman said recently, "This is a busy time of year for all producers and we have designed our meeting to meet the needs of our membership. We are providing information we feel is important to producers in a half day." All are invited to attend and bring a friend.
