2009 Ag Profitability Meeting at Salina Feb. 11

The Central Kansas Extension District and Dickinson County Extension Council will host an Ag Profitability Meeting Feb. 11 at the 4-H Building, Kenwood Park in Salina. The meeting will start at 11 a.m., and conclude at 2:30 p.m. A noon lunch will be sponsored by the Saline, Ottawa and Dickinson County Farm Bureau Associations. There is no cost for the meeting but participants should RSVP for the noon meal by calling the CKD3 Office at Salina 785-309-5850 or Minneapolis 785-392-2147 or the Dickinson County Extension Office at 785-263- 2001 by no later than Feb. 9.

The first speaker will be Terry Kastens, K-State Extension ag economist who will update farmers on the "Affordability of New Technology." Following lunch, Mike Woolverton, K-State Extension grain marketing specialist will discuss the "2009 Grain Market Situation and Outlook." Final presentation will be from Terry Kastens discussing "Land Ownership and Land Rents."

All area farmers are invited to attend.
