NWSS includes 30 Limousin, Lim-Flex pens, carloads

The National Western Stock Show Limousin and Lim-Flex pen and carload shows were Jan. 14 in Denver, Colo. Judges Jimmy Linthicum, Welch, Okla.; Mark McCully, Wooster, Ohio; and Brian Price, Garden City, Kan., evaluated seven pens of Lim-Flex bulls, 17 pens of Limousin bulls and six carloads of Limousin bulls.

The grand champion carload of Limousin bulls came from Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, Colo. The 10 head had an average birthdate of March 27, 2008; an average weight of 1,125 pounds; and an average weight per day of age (WDA) of 3.84 pounds. Sires represented in the group were AUTO Dollar General 122R, MAGS Remote, GPFF Blaque Rulon, MAGS Savage and DHVO Deuce 132R.

The reserve champion carload of Limousin bulls also was the People's Choice award winner. The eight head came from Wulf Limousin Farms, Morris, Minn. They had an average birthdate of April 26, 2007; an average weight of 1,878 pounds; and an average WDA of 2.98 pounds. Sires represented in the group were Wulfs Realtor 1503R, Wulfs Nobel Prize 3861N, HUNT Mr Jock 44J, PLND Numero Uno 394N, Carrousels MVP, Wulfs Reagan 2011R and ELOR Ole's Black Gold 606.

The grand champion pen of three Limousin bulls came from Magness Land and Cattle. The Division 1 winner had an average birthdate of Jan. 19, 2008; an average weight of 1,432 pounds; and an average WDA of 3.97 pounds. AUTO Dollar General 122R sired the entire group.

The reserve grand champion pen of three Limousin bulls came from Wulf Limousin Farms. Division 2's winning pen had an average birthdate of March 1, 2008; an average weight of 998 pounds; and an average WDA of 3.13 pounds. COLE Wulf Hunt, Wulfs Nasa 1212N and Wulfs Ridgley 3172R sired the group.

The People's Choice pen came from Running Creek Ranch, Elizabeth, Colo. The Division 3 winner had an average birthdate of April 2, 2008; an average weight of 903 pounds; and an average WDA of 3.15 pounds. Wulfs Ransom 3059R and OKLF Linebacker 341L sired the group.

The grand champion pen of three Lim-Flex bulls came from Magness Land and Cattle. It had an average birthdate of March 1, 2008; an average weight of 1,273 pounds; and an average WDA of 3.99 pounds. Sires represented in the group were G A R Predestined and LH Rodemaster 338R. Dams represented were MAGS 13M, BOHI Red Robin 282R and DVFC Maria 201R.

The reserve grand champion pen of three Lim-Flex bulls came from Coleman Limousin Ranch, Charlo, Mont. It had an average birthdate of Feb. 29, 2008; an average weight of 1,192 pounds; and an average WDA of 3.72 pounds. Coleman Precision 608 sired the whole group out of HC Crystal 804, COLE 91L and COLE 36M.
