Controlling difficult pasture weeds, brush focus of meeting Feb. 19 in Hays

Farmers and ranchers wanting to know the latest developments and best management practices for "Controlling Difficult Pasture Weeds & Brush" can attend a brief program Feb. 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Extension Office back meeting room at 601 Main Street in Hays.

Best management practices for controlling - cedar and honeylocust tress; yucca; musk and bull thistle will be discussed by Walt Fick, K-State Range Management specialist. Keith Harmoney, Range scientist at the Hays Ag Research Center will present information on old world bluestem - friend or foe; and western ragweed.

Pre-registration is requested by Feb. 17 call 785-628-9430 to register. A minimum of 10 people must be pre-registered in order to hold this free meeting.
