Agriculture Food Chain Security Workshop Series starting Feb. 26

Dodge City Community College will be offering a five sessions workshop addressing Agriculture Food Chain Security. The workshops are scheduled to be held once a month February through June. The first workshop will be Feb. 26.
Shortly after 9/11, a group of western Kansas leaders recognized that terrorism can occur in many different forms. The Kansas agricultural economy is threatened and Kansas communities of all sizes could become targets of terror. A group consisting of industrial, agricultural, state and local governmental leaders, along with law enforcement sectors combined their expertise to establish a program preparing and training against a terror strike at the agricultural food chain.
The workshops are designed to educate and train to safeguard against agro-terrorism threats. The series is for those in the fields of agriculture, law enforcement, emergency services, public health and the food industry. Each session will build upon the last to enhance participants' ability to apply the information. The cost is: Ford County resident--$100; Non Ford County resident--$110.
