'Aggieland Saturday' to feature College of Agriculture and Life Sciences programsTexas "Aggieland Saturday" will take place Feb. 21 on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station. The campus-wide open house for prospective students will include activities and events hosted by all the academic departments in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Prospective freshmen and transfer students, along with their families, are invited to attend. The event is free, but organizers ask participating students to register online at http://www.tamu.edu/aggiesaturday. A complete schedule is also at that site. The programs within the college will be well represented, according to Lilly Sanchez-Saquib, program coordinator in the office of the dean. "All 14 departments will be showcased in a single day with a total of 38 different sessions," she said. Events kick off at 9:30 a.m., in Room 115 of the Kleberg Center with a welcome from the dean, Dr. Mark Hussey. Sessions throughout the day will include a look at agricultural and life sciences career options, as well as overviews of each department. Free refreshments will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Student Council Visitors Welcome Center in the Kleberg Center Atrium on the west campus. A free lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m., in Francis Hall on the main campus.
