4-H leader selected for volunteer awardNew Mexico Thelma Jo Riddle, a 4-H leader for 20 years in Quay County, was selected as the New Mexico recipient of the 2009 Salute to Excellence Award. This award recognizes 4-H volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H while promoting service through volunteerism, as both an opportunity and a privilege. Riddle is active in the 4-H Horse Program and has served in county level positions and as a 4-H club leader. Her enthusiasm and organizational skills has been a model for the 4-H members and their families. She encourages her members to complete their tasks and gives them the limelight to shine. In the nomination form it was written that "T.J. has a heart of gold."
