Ag Profitability Conference Dec. 9Kansas Farmers and ranchers make many decisions in their farming operations. Crop enterprise decisions and rents, and grain and livestock marketing considerations are some of the important ones to consider. K-State ag economists will address these important and timely subjects at an Ag Profitability Conference scheduled for Dec. 9 at the LaCrosse City Auditorium, 417 Main Street. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the conference adjourns at 4 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but pre-register by calling 800-460-9079 by Dec. 7 to ensure a meal. The agenda includes the following speakers and their topics: Dan O'Brien, "Grain Market Situation and Outlook," Kevin Dhuyvetter, "Flexible Cash Rents: Why and How?" Michael Langemeier, "Relative Efficiency of Kansas Wheat Farms," Kevin Dhuyvetter, "Management Strategies Affecting Calf Marketability," Michael Langemeier, "Update on Financial Performance and Structure of Farms," and Mark Wood, "Crop Enterprise Profitability." Everyone with an interest in these topics is encouraged to attend.
