Brian Eggebrecht, Ryan McCormick selected for 2009 WILOT Program

Montana

MGGA Secretary Brian Eggebrecht, grain producer from Malta, and MGGA Director Ryan McCormick, grain producer from Kremlin, have been selected to attend the 2009 Wheat Industry Leaders of Tomorrow leadership training program to be held in St. Louis Nov. 1 to 6.

WILOT, sponsored by Monsanto, is targeted at producers interested in becoming more involved--or involved for the first time--in their state wheat grower associations.

Program curriculum focuses on personal leadership styles; dealing effectively with the media; agricultural policy; advocacy; technology issues in wheat; and the NAWG structure. Friendships made between growers during program training are also an important element of WILOT.

This year's agenda includes Personal Leadership Development with Monty Miller, Ag Policy with Barry Flinchbaugh, Sustainability with Michael Doane, Media Training with Tom Morgan, and Cori Wittman discussing lobbying and giving an overview of NAWG.
