Ag Consultants pick Minneapolis for 2010 meetingThe American Society of Agricultural Consultants has selected Minneapolis as the site of the organization's 2010 Conference and Annual Meeting. Activities will be held at the Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport Oct. 24 to 26. "The meeting theme has been picked--"Thinking Outside the Box"--and while the conference schedule is still in the planning stage, it looks like there will be two main areas of educational emphasis: 1) global ag and international consulting opportunities and 2) precision ag and the strides it is making in production ag," says Peggy Raisanen, Hurley and Associates, Annandale, Minn., who is heading up the planning for the meeting. "We are also looking at hosting a panel of agricultural publication editors to get their thoughts on farming today," she adds. "We are asking them to address changes taking place in technology on the farm as well as a profile of today's producer and their use of the latest media available. We also want them to discuss the consolidations that are taking place in the input supplier industry." The entire program is designed so that those attending will be eligible for 16 hours of continuing education (a requisite for accreditation as a Certified Agricultural Consultant). "Attendance is open to anyone interested in agriculture and we welcome individuals from all disciplines to join." The American Society of Agricultural Consultants was founded in 1963.
