Bovine TB tests to continue through DecemberLINCOLN, Neb. (AP)--Nebraska agriculture officials say they now expect bovine tuberculosis testing to continue through December as they investigate whether two cases found in one herd last spring were isolated incidents. A total of 19,800 cattle in north-central and eastern Nebraska have been tested since the first cases were found in Rock County. No new cases of the disease have been found, but the herd where the disease was found has not yet been slaughtered. Nebraska Agriculture Department spokeswoman Christin Kamm says the testing was delayed this fall because wet weather delayed the corn harvest some ranchers had to complete. Nine herds remain quarantined in eight counties. Experts say there is little risk of the disease being transmitted to humans.
