Corn harvest at 81 percent completeWyoming The temperatures in Wyoming during the week ending Dec. 6 were below zero, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Wyoming Field Office, Dec. 7. The ground was frozen so not much field work was being done. Livestock were fairing well and the supplemental feeding was expected to increase due to snow in localized areas. Hay supplies were holding up well. Corn harvested has made great progress from last week. High temperatures ranged from low 30s to high 50s. Low temperatures ranged from 23 degrees below to 2 degrees above. Topsoil moisture was at 85 percent adequate or better, up 18 points from last year and up 34 points from the average. Subsoil moisture was at 69 percent adequate or better, up 10 points from last year and up 35 points from the average. There were 3.7 days suitable for field work last week. Eighty-one percent of all corn was harvested, up 30 points from last year and up 1 point from the average. Winter wheat condition was reported at 94 good or better, unchanged from last week. Range and pasture conditions were at 49 percent good or better, down 2 points from the previous week. Stock water supplies were at 85 percent adequate or better.
