Arkansas Farm Bureau celebrating 75 years

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP)--Gov. Mike Beebe plans to help the Arkansas Farm Bureau celebrate an important anniversary this week--its 75th.

The Farm Bureau works to improve farm and rural life around the nation. In Arkansas, the Farm Bureau began in 1934 with 65 members--and now counts more than 220,000 member families.

Beebe plans to speak to the Farm Bureau Dec. 2 as they get under way with their 75th annual meeting at the Peabody Hotel and Statehouse Convention Center.
