Wisconsin family sickened by E. coli sues JBS beef
MILWAUKEE (AP)--A Wisconsin family sickened by E. coli has filed a lawsuit against JBS Swift Beef Co., alleging they consumed tainted ground beef from the company.
The law firm of Marler Clark filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Rosploch family on Aug. 21 in federal court in Milwaukee.
The lawsuit alleges the family consumed beef on July 19 that was later found to be among 420,000 pounds recalled by the company.
Three family members were sickened, including a 7-year-old who developed a dangerous complication that required hospitalization until Aug. 15. He is now recovering at the family's home near Brookfield.
JBS Swift Beef Co. of Greeley, Colo., did not immediately respond to a request for comment Aug. 21.
